Default OIl Pressure

I pulled my car out of the garage this morning to wash it and noticed the oil pressure was 130 psi. I shut it down and just turn the key to on and it still buried the gauge. I started it back up and check the DIC and it match the direct reading gauge.

Do you think my pressure sensor is bad or stuck?

Is this safe to drive?

Last week I put an oil catch can on could this have had an effect? I really don't think they have anything to do with each other but it’s the only thing different.

I guess I should check for codes, I'll post them if I get any.

Do you realize that you have no way of knowing what your oil pressure is, so if your oil pump goes out or something happens and you lose all of your oil then you'll seize the engine up.

Yeah, bad sensor. Pull intake and replace......not that bad a job...one caveat, though... follow the manifold torque specs.

Thanks, I drove it and it only moved 1 or 2 psi. I guess its time to get a sensor.
