Seems like someone would build an inexpensive adapter for both front and rear jacking that could be attached to a floor jack. I know I can build them, but doesn't someone sell something like this?

I suspect you are looking for something like what NorthernTools sells that works perfectly for the C6's, but unfortunately it's a tad too long for the C5 And it's only $30!!!
Helps your hydraulic jack lift entire frame of vehicle for greater stability
Telescoping pads on each end adjust total length from 27 5/8 in. to 38 in.
4 3/4 in. width
I used this jack adapter on my Fiero low profile sissors jack (when I used non runflats) But now that I'm lowered nothing I have fits between the frame and the ground. I returned to runflats.

Yes, something like this is what I had in mind (but for a C5). I already have the pucks and that is what I use whenever I pull one wheel at a time. Just don't feel very confident about trying to lift a second wheel off the ground using this method. I guess ramps may be my best bet.
If you install the frame rails you can pick up without any pucks.
I always pick up just behind the side mirror to change to race wheels. This lifts both wheels with one lift.
