My mechanic pulled the torque tube today and said that not only is the rubber coupler snapped, the bolts on the driveshaft itself are snapped off. Is there any way to drill them out and replace them, or can i buy a used driveshaft somewhere? Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am limited on time for my decision.
I'm guessing its the front coupler...
First off, dont bother re-using you drive shaft, it will be out of balance.
2nd- Have him pull the clutch and replace the pilot bearing cause they take alot of abuse while the coupler is failing.(check the clutch disk too)
Its pricy but you may want to upgrade to the 02-up torque tube assembly, its much more durable and you can buy the couplers for it if they ever fail. When mine (its a 99) went bad, I couldnt even buy the couplers for it.

Might see if ECS can hook up with one of their custom driveshafts, I think they are about a $1K. or look on ebay.
All torque tube's 2001 and newer are the improved heavier duty type.
Dan Kellermeyer, DJ Racing in Michigan, make the best Billet couplers with hardware, follow the previous suggestions. If you have done the couplers once, unless you change your style, the problem will re occur... Ecklers use to offer them if you can't get them direct..
