I want to install a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump in my fuel tank. I have an
'03 Z06. I was told the tank design was changed from the earlier C5 models. Is that correct? If so, will the Walbro 255lph fit in the '03 tank?
In not what suggestions would you have. Different pump, change the tanks or what???
If your car was built later than Nov of 2002 then you have the later FFS style fuel system. The easiest way to check is to look at the left fuel tank just ahead of the left rear tire and see if you can see a fuel pump installed there, if there is nothing installed at this point then your fuel pump is installed from the top of the tank and it's an FFS style system.
What kind of flow do you need to get out of your fuel setup? Are you running FI, nitrous, or just a large heads/cam package?
If you have the FFS fuel system I would almost not even recommend opening up the tank. A boost-a-pump might be your wisest choice for an NA application.
If you have greater fuel demands due to nitrous or FI, there are some proven kits out there that would work well. The ECS fuel kit comes to mind.
