Shifter Question
but I just want to make this purchase only once. I do your basic driving, messing around and some track driving. Thanks in advance to those who reply to this thread.Joe

The billet shifters will by nature transmit more noise into your passenger compartment - at higher rpms this can sound like a rattling from the shifter.
The shorter throw makes the shifts more positive (some would say clunkier).
The stock shifters are bushed with a rubber isolator to dampen the noise and make the shifting action smoother (I presume on the last part).
What I am trying to say is that the short throw billet shifters are not for everyone.
I love it at the drag strip, and driving around town. It would not be as much fun on a road course where I had to row it a lot, in that case I would probably want the improved shifter from a stock C6 Z06.
All that said, I think the best billet shifter out there is the Breathless Performance Products shifter.
This shifter is adjustable - you can vary the angle of the shift rod left, right, forward and back, and it has the option of an angled shaft or a straight one. IT's the only shifter I know of that has this ability to fine tune itself to your driving position.
Guess what, it is also probably the most expensive one too.
A lot of folks go with the B&M Ripper they are good with a good shift feel, but are not as adjustable.
