Credit where credit is due:
I called GM Customer Care (or whatever they call themselves) and complained that the dealer/regional rep wouldn't give me a interim fix for the problem while a permanent fix was being developed.
Rick Railey, who was very polite and great with me on the phone, took all my information and called me back within an hour to say that he had spoken to the service manager at Performance Chevrolet, and that new parts (current version) would be ordered and installed. While the new part may go bad, at least it won't rock for the next several months (got the car in May, seat started rocking about 2 weeks ago). Hopefully by the time the part that is to be installed is going bad again, a permanent fix will be ready.
Maybe the General ain't so bad after all. :smash:
Did they give you any clue as to when the permanent fix might be available? I was told around December but this seat thing is really starting to annoy me. (I'm not sure I really want to take the car in twice though)
The folks at Cherolet told me "check back in 1 to 2 months." So whether that means a fix will be available in 1 to 2 months, or whether they'll know more about when the fix will be available in 1 to 2 months, I'm not sure.
I have a 2001 Coupe with 1100 miles, so far no seat problem. Does this problem occur on all Corvettes or is it limited to the type of seat, memory option, etc.
