Default Windows loose?

Is this normal? With my doors open, my windows seem loose. They have play left to right. Shouldn't they be tight on the tracks?

TIA,
DBLX

Thought I had this problem too. Then I replaced the outer window seal because the original had torn at the far end of the door. Window has no play anymore.

my driver side door is loose as well, seals look ok though. when i wash the car i get condinsation built up on the inside edge of the glass right above the door handle area. Looks like could be a small gap (glass and seals not meeting).

My seals look good too. Is there an adjustment?

There are a number of door glass adjustments. My recommendation is to remove the inside door panel and take a look. There are felt bumpers that steady the window in the in and out position. There are adjustments on the bottom of the door that will tip the glass in and out and you can check the two fasteners that secure the glass to the window frame bracket at the base of the glass. While your in there lube up the regulator and nylon track with some spray white grease.

keep in mind that the glass is only glued to the brackets for the power window, and that the glue can come free

which kinda sucks, i've had this experience recently

It happens from shutting the doors by the window and not the door itself. I get pissed when I see people shutting my door with the window.

No adjustment on the outer seal... but on mine, the soft stuff that is against the window had flattened over the years.

Whatever you do, if you go to remove the outer seal... after removing the screw at the front, CAREFULLY slide the seal towards the rear of the door... this is a slide fit, not a snap fit, and you'll easily damage the fiberglass if you try to pry the seal out.

If the simple outer seal replacement doesn't solve it- Bill Curlee's recommendation is definitely your next step. In fact, in my case, the outer seal replacement might be masking a problem not unlike yours... but the window has no slack, no delays and no leaks... it worked for me. You may want to address your problem as he suggests first, or accomplish both at the same time.
