Default another vararam question

i've recently come across a new vararam product: the vararam widemouth intake. supposedly it uses the intake tubes from the regular vararam but has a larger filter/merge setup

question#1 which would perform better: a K&N or similar high flow filter in the regular vararam setup or the widemouth unit?

question#2 does anyone know of a place that sells the vararam kit with the widemouth setup instead of the normal one?

thanks.

I am a VaraRam dealer and I have not heard of such a product and I know about all the new stuff that will be coming out so I'm sure I would of heard about this. Where did you see it?

I found this on ECKLERS. It doesn't utilize the down tubes, it eliminates them. You could silicone in place a K&N or similar filter and you would have essentially the same thing.

Gotcha. That may have been discontinued. I'll see if I can find out some info on it for you and let you know that advantages or disadvantages.

Just by looking at it I would say it would work like any other intake drawing in hotter air from the engine compartment. At least with the runners you are pulling in air from outside of the vehicle.

DAMN! Cant see how that would be any better than blackwing!
Naaaa,,,If you get a Vararam, get the VB2 and get the FULL EFFECT . What your looking for is cool fresh air! Unless you block off the area in front of the radiator from the engine your going to get warm air from the engine compartment.

I have a vararam and I don't think without the runners it would work
any better than say a blackwing, K&N, or any of those type filters.

Just an FYI, the VaraRam B2 is now sold with a K&N style filter except is flows a little better than the K&N filter.

Also, if you do get a B2 unit, I have a special for forum members at $309.99. Since you are in Houston I'd be happy to meet up with you to avoid the shipping.
