Exploding signal bulb?
Did a search and couldn't find anything..
I have a buddy with a '98 coupe that keeps exploding the passenger side turn signal bulb ... happened about three times in a year.
Found the thread about grounding problems, but before I send him ripping things apart I wanted to know if anyone else has heard of this.. ??

I was wondering the same thing myself. I recently got my 2000 Mag Red coupe, and will be building some ramps based on Mike Mercury's design/ Then I can get under it and fix that thing with an aluminum plug and silicone sealer per the thread. I thought a previous bulb had exploded, as there are orange colored bits inside the housing, and wondered why.

Once again CF comes through and saves a guy visits to the dealership, ending in who-knows how much money spent.This is for a friend of mine who's had the '98 about a year or so now, and I was telling him what a great resource CF is for technical issues. This just proves it.

Hey, good to see another Corvette person from the area. I can help you change out the lens if you need any help. I put new clear corners on mine for the exact same thing and as a side benefit they look pretty nice. It's not that difficult once you have did it once. The trick is all in the right tools.

You're welcome Clete, it's nice having access to pooled knowledge on the forum for sure! Saved my butt a few times. BTW Chuckster is very helpful and doesn't mind if u or your friend need to private message him for details on that job. He and I hang out quite a bit at the track.
