I just bought a sweet red Z06
last Vette I owned was a 1981
anyway the front spoiler scrapes when
I pull into my driveway? I know the manual
says its ok but it seems odd in design.
Can anyone fill me in on why this is the way it is
and is there a way to fix it or should I remove the spoiler?
Thanks for the help
You can try entering the driveway at an angle or buying the casters from a vendor. Some have trimmed the lower portion of the three pieces which you might consider. The three pieces are needed to deflect air up into the radiator for proper cooling. Replacement pieces are inexpensive, relative to other Corvette parts...so when the pieces get jagged looking, simply replace them.
The scraping is annoying, but it's part of the C5/Z06 lifestyle you've agreed to accept.

You can raise the car if it has been lowered by the previous owner.
Just make sure you keep the correct rake. Meaning if you raise the front you need to raise the back the same amount. This will keep your car stable at high speeds. Don
thanks for the input
now if I can figure out the whiney gear/rear end? noises in the rear -now and then at low speed-any input
I will be smilin, it only has 22,000 miles on her
I guess part of the ZO6 experience is putting up with noisey drive train
huh?
Z06's have less sound deadening than regular C5's, so you will hear alot more mechanical noises. Most are normal: valve train tick, gear whine, throwout bearing rattle, etc. Between the noises and the front end scraping, get used to it. You are driving one bad-*** great performance machine. There will be very few cars that can beat a stock Z06.
mine is so gouged, it is trimming itself
it's OK to scrape, that's why it is spring loaded
if it really bad, you can trim it some- just don't remove, it helps cool the radiator
I am used to a no noise Hemi Ram that
I traded on the car,
I will take your advice and just drive it
and enjoy the sounds also
its got HRE 541 R performance wheels 19 in the front 20 in the back-any info on these?, they do look bitchen

HRE's are some of the best (and expensive) wheels out there.
The pieces are easy to remove - you can pull them off completely or cut them down. I cut mine down about 2.5" and have never scraped again (and I'm lowered).
