Default Serious electrical problem.

I got a charge system fault notice on the DIC and battery was low, charged battery and went for a drive, battery voltage alternated between 9 and 13 volts. On the way home , car shut down twice, restarted right away with "Charge System Fault" on the DIC. Two blocks from the house, car quit completely, would not start, no power. Opened hood and positive terminal had melted off Optima red top battery, but no leaking occured. Tried to connect positive termminal to battery again and more melting of terminal occured. Tried hooking up start box to car and I get no power, disconnected alternator, car still dead. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking I may have blown some fuses also.

Sounds like you had a bad or loose battery terminal or one of the main power wires shorted out some where. Its easy to find and follow the main RED power wires. Just follow the RED wires off the battery terminal. It splits off into three wires. One goes to the starter, and one goes to the Main fuse box in the engine compartment and attaches to the B+ terminal.

There is a wire that branches off from there which goes to the fuse box in the passengers foot well.
