I just installed the American Racing headers (along with heads & cam). The quality is first rate. They fit great, so the install was very easy. Spark plug access is also very good. Also very impressed with the x-pipe and grade 8 hardware.
I installed LG's on my 1997 C5 and a friends 2000 C5 and the fitment was good on my car but the bellhousing bracket was off on his car and required a custom bracket to make it work. The slip joints are ok...but do leak unless you use RTV sealant or similar. They were quite a few hundred $ less than the AR setup and were stainless.
I helped install a set of Kooks on a fellow members C6 and in my opinion the fitment was horrible. We followed directions and still needed a crowbar and a LOT of encouragement to get the ball sockets to line up close enough to the X pipe to get the bolts on. There should not be the need to get a crowbar ANYWHERE near a Corvette to install headers, esp when they cost that much.
I've seen a few AR headers and the fit and finish looks good and lots of shops prefer installing them because they are well designed. However they are almost 50% more costly than the LG's. AR's are also made in the US, I don't know where Kooks or LG's are made.
