Default Help with Kooks Headers!

I just got brand new Kooks 1 7/8 Race Headers with the 3" x pipe for xmas and I opened them today and they did not come with the header installation kit (the gaskets & bolts). I called Kooks but they don't open back up until January 2nd and I have an appt the morning of the 2nd to get them installed so I am wondering do the headers usually come the kit or do I have to buy it?

they are supplied usually, get some 97-00 Corvette gaskets(the round ones) and install them

bolts can be found at most hardware stores, HD, Lowes, Grade 8

You pay that much for headers and they better come with the installation hardware. If it was left out by mistake then they have lousy quality control before shipping.

I agree with you. The setup was roughly $1400 with shipping. If anyone has a kit or knows exactly how many bolts and gaskets I will need please let me know. I hate to think I am going to have to postpone an appt I have had for over a month because of not having the hardware!

Hey Steve. I am assuming you mean did I ask the shop could they order the installation kit? They are closed until the 2nd and reopen that morning so I was trying to see what I could do to possibly get the kit before I am suppose to go.

I understand, typically shops will take care of parts ordered in-house, I've run into a few problems in a similar situation

Your kidding right???

EVERYONE has quality control issues every once in a while.. Hell, you bought a car that has more quality control problems than anyone can count. I dont see you going out and selling it for a Honda..

I'll tell you what.. Next time go and spend 500 bucks MORE for a set of LG's. This way you will be able to have your 10 dollars worth of bolts, and 2 paper gaskets.

Now that's customer service right there! That is why I bought Kooks in the 1st place. I just wasn't sure what to do considering they were closed till the 2nd. Thanks George!

Mine came with the entire kit, I'm surprised. A few of my buddies who have them all had the Install kit as well. Thats not like Kooks to forget something like that. I hope the problem gets solved soon. Once you have them Installed on your Vette you'll forget about this problem when you pick up over 40 HP lol

Update: I got the package Friday morning. That is above and beyond customer service if you ask me. I appreciate the hat and shirt too! I'm installing them with a head/cam and nitrous install so I better get more than 40HP! I have a few friends with Kooks Headers on their vettes that have a few years of use and have never had any problems. They even still look perfect. That's why I chose Kooks. I had no idea at the time their customer service was such top notch. So now you guys know that they will come through when you need them!

Way to take care of the customer George. This is how customer service should be. There was a problem and the company took care of it promptly. If I didn't already have headers, I would order from you guys...
