How many does a 98 C5 have from the factory? 2 or 4? Thinking about running catless....

2 pup cats right after the exhaust manifold and 2 more upstream of the mufflers. = 4 Cats for you my friend.

If you install LT headers that will elim the pups. Going with high flow cats instead of eliminating the main cats will get you more RWHP without the stink of going catless.

Another thing to consider is there will also be an increase in exhaust sound, which I don't know if you consider a good or a bad thing. But it should sound bad a$$.

I think there are only two cats on all C5's until late 2000.

They are in the tunnel, approximately under the seats.

However, in my experiece, running catless will add negligable power and be smelly..

97-00 = 2 .. 01+ = 4 cats.

however i disagree about the comment on the removal .. it makes the car a whole lot louder though.
