Noise when shutting engine off

Hey guys, I need some advise. I have a 2001 coupe six speed with 50K miles. When I drive it for awhile and get it warmed up, and I shut it off, I get a sound form under the hood. like a humming. It almost sounds as if the fuel pressure regulator or something. it last about 5-10 secound then quits. it only does it when Its good and warm. does not do this after short trips. Could this be some type of fuel bypass acting up? any ideas?

Steering pumps tend to make the hum noise you're describing when they're low on fluid or running hot.

The AIR pump makes this kind of noise too. Mine usually makes this noise when Im idling or close to idle (which you would be when you are parking and shutting down)

Thanks but the noise occurs after I shut the engine off. Sounds like excess pressure in the fuel rail trying to bypass to the take but the regulator is not working smooth

could it be the air conditioner equalizing the pressure through the A/C components?
