What was the procedure to remove auto shift knob ?

Put your keys in the ignition and turn them so that you can move shifter.
Make sure your hand brake is on and put it in low gear. Toward the bottom of the ship **** you'll find a metal staple on the dash side.
Get a small screw driver and wiggle it free.
