Default Powerloader, drive in D or 3rd ???

I was wondering what most of you A4 guys with a Powerloader do, have it in D or 3rd while cruising in the city. After I picked up my PL at TTS, and test-driving with Steve, he said I should always leave it in D and not touch it. Hmm, before I got loaded I mostly had it in 3rd. Only in D while on the freeway.

What do you guys do?

good question as I drive around in 3rd to unleash the Borlas easier...but if that's what Steve said, I'll give it a shot :D

D is just fine...used to run in 3 untill loaded, now it choose's the correct gear in a flash according to how aggressive you are. It's really fun to take off in 1st and shift to 2nd at 35 or so at half throttel & hear a nice "chirp" when it shifts. :yesnod:

Hey AU and wallstAL, we live pretty close together here, and should meet some time for a ride.
What do you think?

I keep it in 3rd due to the fact that it "hunts" between 3 and OD, if I leave it in OD at 35-50 mph.

Leave it in D...with the Powerloader, you'll get an immediate downshift with only light pressure on the accelerator.

Steve told me to leave it in "D" because he reprograms the 'puter and raises the shift points for "D", and when you put it in "3". the PCM raises the shift points even higher than Steve's 6200 rpm shift.
