Ok guys..the unit was installed this morning by the stealership for $100
Code went away and it was also wet outside so i let her rip and sure enough traction control and ABS worked perfectly.
Was informed by other vette members that their codes have come back so I'll keep you guys updated. They do offer a "lifetime" warranty so thats a good thing.
I'm on the fence if the price is worth taking the time to argue with the dealer or not... my only convenient dealer is pain that I have had to argue with before
(they told me I cut out the screen on my MAF on my 02 Z06... I had to show them pics of a GM engineer displaying the new MAF for 02.....)
I diagnosed my C1214 problem as a bad EBCM. I removed the module and sent it to Auto & Truck Electronics, who rebuilt it for $325 + shipping and a lifetime warranty. I put the unit back in Saturday (in 5 degree temp.!), turned on the ignition, reset the C1214 code, and started the vette. I have finally fixed it, hopefully, since I now have no codes, no warning lights and no DIC messages. By the way, what an ordeal removing this unit. Many, many scratches and gouges in flesh getting the screws removed and reinstalled. But so far, it's worth it, and I'd definitely recommend it.

yeah, I tried to put it back in myself, I was underneath the car bending my back as if i was a contortionist holding the unit and trying to screw it in...
I was like "fark it" than got the dealership to do it
The most common code for a faulty EBCM is C1214 - "Sol Valve relay Contact or coil CKT Open". This code is set when the system voltage is less than 8 volts for 0.23 seconds...The DIC will display "service abs, active handling & traction control"....REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT/INSTALL guidelines with photos are available for diy-ers by PM'ing me with your email address. Here are the best sources to have your EBCM rebuilt instead of purchasing a new one from GMpartsdirect or Fred Beans(for $650):
