I did a search for this already but didn't really find anything. The car vibrates and the rpm's go down when putting the car into Drive or Reverse but once it's in gear it idle's just fine. What could be the problem?
My 98 A4 does the same thing. I thought I read on the forum one time that high mileage spark plugs can cause erratic/low idle conditions. Maybe someone else can confirm if the plugs can cause this.
There's been several threads on rough idle. Most of them seem to cure (as did mine) with a good flushing using Sea Foam. Also, check for intake leaks.. usually AFTER the MAF.

Thanks in advance,

If you have an A4 and this is happening on start-up then wait until the DIC displays "Brake Before Shift" and see if that helps. My guess is that it takes the computer a few seconds to initialize and that message indicates that it's ready to go.
