I used one on my mustang becuse it has 2 sub frames (front and rear) connected to the underbody (that flexs).
Our corvettes has a full frame just like full size trucks and race cars.
Why? How many cars do you know that you can easily jack two wheels (on one side) off the ground? Stiffest chassis (torsional) I've ever seen. There's no room underneath anyway.
Add rocker rails and make believe that they are subframe connectors.

You can't put subframe connectors on a vette, it does'nt have a front subframe. A mus$#@% is a unibody car thats why you can put them on, but a corvette has a frame, nothing to attach them to.

Several forum vendors carry them. L.A.P.D. and Elite Engineering come to mind right off.

The C6 Z06 has a thicker aluminum tunnel plate that fits out C5's. Costs about $60 from dealer.
Out of curiousity, what is it that makes you feel the C5 needs more rigidity? This car is an absolute anvil right out of the box.
I did add a tunnel plate, and indeed it did give me slightly more handling feel and confidence at the limit, but other than that this car is a solid 9.9 when it comes to rigidity.
LG performance makes a good plate I put one in my vert and was happy. The car is cooler on trips and you can feel a difference in the car. My buddy has a 2000 coupe and the tunnel plate install helped but was less noticable than on the vert. Good luck
Actually, when the C5 was engineered it was designed first as a convertible before a hardtop or coupe, so that when they cut the roof off it wouldn't need any additional stiffening. I have the LG tunnel plate on my Z and it does make a little difference even with the fixed roof, but probably a lot more on a 'vert or targa top.
I put a tunnel plate in my car over the winter. It's not something that will give you a huge improvement. I ~think~ my car might be a little stiffer but it's hard to tell. I got it fairly cheap though at $100. I really wouldn't spend $250 or $300 for one. That money would be better spent upgrading the shocks and sway bars in a coupe or 'vert.
