If you're referring to the two pins that hold the oem filter with the rubber grommets...I believe they have TORX screws threaded into the metal bumper.

I noticed that later on they acted like you are supposedto put them back in. Something like slide cover down to pins.I did not do this .
Some people have posted their airbridge hits hood liner this may be why.
I don,t have that problem It,s probably a little lower and I can,t get rubber grommets on the radiator pins. But I would rather have my problem.
To me the part that sucks is why didn,t they just make a template of the whole rad. shroud paper is not that damn expensive.
I also passed on using stupid masking tape I useda yellow highlighter.
Bottom line it honks

When they say slide down over pins they are talking about the two on top that hold your factory air bridge

Or maybe they were talking about the pins that guide the cover onto the bottom piece that gets riveted to the shroud. Either way they were not referring to the pins that held the original airbox in place. You don't put those back on. And yes it seems to rub the hood liner a little, but it's not bad at all.

Thanks I did that ,complete with grommets. But I feel that the difference between rubing hood liner and going down further on rad shroud is maybe quarter inch up or down on shroud.I think some folks have had to buy a new shroud

When I installed my Honker I purposely cut the hole in the shroud a 1/2"further away (towards the front of the car) to insure the air bridge sits as low as possible on the rad. cover.
Even so, the connectors to the maf still slightly make contact with the hood liner.
All in all, I thought the install was pretty easy....

Thats the only negative I have found with the Honker. Even positioning the filter body as far forward as possible and removing the coupler pins and grommets (at the radiator cover) the front of the bellows section still hits the hoodliner and is making a mess out of my Paula H painted hoodliner. (Really irritating considering the price).

If they had gone with a smooth section instaed of the damn bellows shape it prbly would clear.

You should be able to make the MAFS connection clear by rotating the MAFS slightly downward (clockwise looking from the front of the car).

Hope that helps.
