I just got my TPIS Long Tubes in from LAPD. They look great. Chris Johnson is doing the install on Wednesday and I will dyno sometime in the coming weeks. My last dyno showed my engine had 325 at the wheels, I will be very happy to be at 335 or better with the LT's. Anyone think that is unreasonable?
That is exactly what I wanted to hear! I wish I was having them installed tomorrow but I will wait the extra day. ;) You know what they say, "Good things come to those who wait." :seeya
Philip, you're going to love them. You should get at least 10+ rwhp & rwtq from them. Plus you got the best guy in Austin doing the install.
FYI: I'm picking up my car this wednesday from MTI........i've been vette-less for over 4 weeks.............but i'm pumped, and can hardly wait to feel the new power!:D:D:D Keep me in mind the next time you dyno your car, cause i need to dyno mine too. Colvins was the one that did my baseline and every mod since then, so i need to go back to them to find out just how big of an increase in power i really got. TTYL!
Run #4 (after the HallTech and Corsa's) 10/7/2000
318.2 HP 330.3 TRQ
Run #5 (after changing the air filter to the wedge on the HallTech) 3/10/2001
325.6 HP 334.5 TRQ
I will dyno but in a few weeks. I need time to restock the bank account. ;) I will try to get some install pictures if I can. I will be at work while the job is being done but maybe I can leave Chris my camera and get him to snap the pictures. I will find out.
Earnest, when I find the funds and the time I will post a message so we can coordinate the right weekend to get the dyno pulls done together. Maybe we will need another Austin/RoundRock dyno day by that time.
AustinC5 I am seriously thinking about getting some TPIS longtubes..but I'm concerned about the quality of the jet coating..Can you tell me what kind of condition they were in when the arrived? I've heard about cracks and flakes!!
I know what you mean, this Head/Cam work took a huge chunk out of my wallet.:( I was thinking about dynoing around the end of October or begining November.......if weather permiting. I'm really curious as to how the Corsa Indys will sound after the LT's are installed......after all the Corsa Indys already sound mean as is.
Well, I'll be by there during the day at least a few times on Wednesday. If you want, I'll try to snap some shots with the digi-cam. You couldn't have picked a better guy to do the install. Chris is the shiznit! Can't say enough good things about him.

Mine were nice till they developed hairline cracks on the welds where the smaller tubes connect. Supposedly I have the revised ones where TPIS addressed it. Planning to have new ones put in.

Check those welds closely before install if you can for I just saw this so called new design last week on a Z06 and they were cracked for the airtubes just like mine and others have.
Got mine few weeks ago, they are great :yesnod: Ran 12:60-s @ 114 and 115 last weekend with horrible wheel hop in 1st and 2nd...I strongly feel the MPH will hit 116 to 117 on a perfect day...ET-s much more practice needed

Did they reaplace it under warranty? How was their cust. service when you run into issues? Did you have to deal with TPIS directly or must go through the vendor first?
So I guess you'll have to pay to the install labor again :mad
Leanhtuan, I didn't replace them yet and to be honest I haven't even contacted TPIS about this. I basically have been living with it and I don't think TPIS will warranty them. So I just can't see pulling the headers out to replace them for some small crack on the air tube just so it can happen again anyway. Most of the TPIS headers I've seen have the same cracks in the same place. From what info I've gathered it seems that it is design flaw with the small air tubes and it will not cause major problems.
