Default 19" Tire question - "After Pictures Added"

I have 19X11 rear wheels... I need to know the "Proper" size tire and where I can purchase them to fit these wheels. The research I have done shows 315/30/19 should be about the same as the 295/35/18 they replaced.

Please help....

The replacement tire needn't be exactly the same circumference. I suspect you will be looking at Pirellis, Michelins, and maybe Continentals for your wheel size (295/30 or 305/30). Does anyone even make a 315/30?

With 19's, you will have a limited selection (of manufacturers) to choose from (as mentioned by wamara). Bridgestone is another option...

I went with the Michelin PS2 in 305/30ZR-19 for the rears (based on my research and CF member usage/recommendation ); IMHO, this is the perfect "upgrade" or plus size to go to for the C5

The PS2s are not cheap though $$$$$$$$ but I'm extremely satisfied with my decision

For purchase, tirerack.com is the place (for mail order)!

Another option is the C6Z stock size tires @ 325-30/19 (rears). They are Goodyear F1 SCs, but are runflats.

Except depending on how much credence you put in the specs (@ TireRack's website), this tire needs a 12-13" wide wheel. Interestingly, the 285/35-19 EMT works on an 11" wide wheel. Hobson's choice?

295/35 and 305/30 are the most common choices.

305/30-19 seems to be the most common choice. I am looking at the Michelin Pilot Sports. My tire rep here at the local Discount tire can get them too me installed for about the same as mail order. I've been told the 345/30-19 will "fit" the 11" wheel, but may bow out on the sides or look like a donut.

Thanks for the help CF members

Even though a 345 MIGHT fit an 11" wheel it certainly wouldn't be considered safe to do so. I would HIGHLY recommend against it.

Please report on fitment and your impressions after you get your new tires installed. (hopefully with pictures!)

Please post pix that show how well the 325's fit in the wheel well... maybe a few good shots looking direct at the back and also looking down at the top of the rear fender.

Thanks!

Will do... the tires should be here middle of the week. I will post close ups of the tire on the wheel, the wheel/tire on the car and a shot of both from the back.
