Default Tire pressure system

Well guys, I will try to give the most info I can here. Just recently bought a '98 C5 from family. Here is the scoop:

Supposedley the car had just received a new battery. Once the new battery was installed, the dummy light for the tires comes on at random. It sometimes tells me the right front is flat, to just service the system, and sometimes it will give a legitimate reading. Any advice on what is the best way to troubleshoot/resolve this issue?

thanks in advance!!!!

The first thing I would do would be to try to re-sync the TPMS. Here are the proceedures...

Any good, reasonable sized magnet will do... an old speaker magnet works very well.

At the same time, in light of the age of your car, it's not unreasonable that the batteries in your Tire Pressure Sensors are approaching the end of their battery life. These will give sporadic readings as they begin to fail. I would fully expect to need to replace them in the next couple of years.

Good luck... GUSTO

I had the same problem on my 98 with one sensor so I just replaced all of them knowing the others would be following soon. I have 4 rebuilt sensors with brand new fresh batteries if your interested. Just shoot me a PM.
