Why is my DIC cold?
No, this isn't an Off Topic post
Had the car out the other day when we went to dinner. After dinner, started the car and got "Active Handling Warming Up" on the DIC. Obviously not that many letters, and then about 2 seconds later, "Warmed UP" was displayed. After 2 'vettes over 7 years, never saw that.
From: Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I get that all the time. I think I recall someone saying that it comes up if you get tire slippage within a certain amount of time after start-up. Immediately after leaving my driveway, I'm driving a curvy street up a hill, which is when I see it.
it happens when you start the car and start driving and what the car is looking for is you driving staight for a couple feet to get the traction control setting right. My neighbor hood has a lot of turns with in a short distance till the main street and i will get this until i hit the main street. then after about 50-100ft of straight driving it goes away

It is due to the steering wheel position sensor recalibrating after startup.
Here is a brief description of the system from GM Service Info.
Traction Control and Active Handling System Indicator(s)
ACT HNDLG-WARMING UP
The IPC illuminates the ACT HNDLG-WARMING UP indicator in the message center when the following occurs:
The active handling option needs to be present in order for this indicator to appear. The EBCM detects that the engine is on and the vehicle speed is at 6 mph (10 km/h) or below. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM. The DIC will display this message for 3.5 seconds and then turn off. A chime will sound will this message is displayed.
When this message is displayed the traction control and active handling system indicator turns on.
ACTIVE HANDLING
The active handling option needs to be present in order for this indicator to appear. The IPC illuminates the ACTIVE HANDLING indicator in the message center when the EBCM detects that the vehicle stability enhancement system is on. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM. The DIC will display this message for 3.5 seconds and then turn off.

The first time that I noticed this was at an auto-x event. I tried placing it in competitive mode on startup and got this notice after completing the course. Apparently, I couldn't drive long enough in a straight line to engage the A/H before doing the course.

Now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thats the correct answer!!!! COMPLETELY NORNAL!
I only get this when I go to Olive Garden for dinner, but get it there 80% of the time because is takes several twists and turns to get out of their parking lot. (sometimes out of their front door as well).
