Hi everyone. I have a 99 6spd coupe w/ 106k. recently driving home from work i was turning onto my street and as i was slowing down and turning at the same time it felt like i had lost power steering. i checked the fluid and it seemed fine. 18 months ago i changed the rotors to cd slotted and flushed the brake system as well this is the first time it has done this. i have also been experiencing many computer problems and warning lights from the D.I.C. such as serv. tire mon. sys., charge fault, shocks inoperable, service vehicle soon. last month some of the things started after a day of cleaning the vette and then playing golf i got busted for dwi that evening and had to get the smart start installed. i called the installers and told them so they had me bring the car back in for them to "inspect" the unit. of course they told me everything was fine and if a dealer determined it was their fault then they would pay for it. so i scheduled my car an appointment for monday the 16th. the people there seem really shady and i am confused as to whether they are really going to pay for the damage assuming it is their fault. anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions. i would hate to have to sell her for another one because i searched for this one for so long. any suggestions please let me know, thank you

I noticed you mentioned "cleaning" the car. Have you ever cleaned/checked your udders? If their plugged up, water gets backed up and winds up coming in onto the BCM. Do a search on this.
You mentioned "shady". Makes me wonder where these putz's chose to tap into for a 12V power source.

Thanks for the advice i will check that out. i did take the dash apart and inspect what they did. there are two beige color wires they spliced into. i am assuming that they control the ignition because the car will not start until you blow into the unit and pass the breath test. i am get back with you on this after it is checked out at the corvette center and let you know how it goes. thanks for the help
