Default Automatic Transmission normal temp. ranges
Can anyone tell me the normal temperature ranges on the auto tranny.
I just got the vette a few weeks ago.
Mine goes from 168 to 1all the way to 199 today.
Today was about 76 degrees and it went up to 199 degrees but there were no warning messages.
I checked the owners manual and did a search but came up with nothing.

Your fine. I don't think the warning light comes on until 240ish

The a4 cooler is in the radiator which is held at around 197. They put the thermostat on the inlet of this engine.

Install a aftermarket external cooler first chance you get and you won't have to worry about the tranny over heating. A good MOD. My $.02

Deep sump pan, B&M Cooler and DeWitts Rad, 172 is the max I have seen.
The cooler the better.
