I have hundreds of homemade MP3 CD's that I play and sometimes I'll get that message also! It's the CD's, not the player.
This "ERR" situation may even vary from car to car and year to year... The CD changer and indash CD player in my 99 coupe will play ANY CD I put in there!! The CD changer and indash player in my 03, rejects about half of the homemade CD's I put in it!
