Default Competition Mode?

I have a 98 coupe with active handling, however I cannot get competition mode to engage. I have "active handling engaged" come on the DIC when traction control is engaged when driving hard. Is there a trick on engaging the competition mode? I have the car running and hold down the traction control button for 10 seconds but get nothing. Do I really have active handling or do I call NCM or remove the front nose of the car for the build sheet?

Thanks for the information, however I do not have a white sticker inside my glove box. I have seen the active handling engaged in the past on my DIC. I guess I have to run it hard and make sure it shows up again. I wonder if 98 vettes have competition mode just without saying it on the DIC? Anyone?

Found the little white label, I do not see the JL4 code just a JL9. I do know that all corvettes came with a active handling system however 97 and 98 vettes have generation I and 99 and above have generation II. Is this correct? Maybe generation I does not display the competition mode or does not have competition mode. I found out that a dealer tech said all corvette have this competition mode and does help with performance. What does the mode actually do? :(
