Now why won't isn't my passenger window working? (56K-careful)
This is my first write up on here so be easy. Usually a lurker on CFOT and the C5 forums.
The situation - Passenger window and door lock not functioning.
The target - Roll up said window and restore functionality.
The solution - Tear car apart and find the failure.
Step 1 - removing door panel and sill panel to expose all wiring.
Step 2 - check all ground connections to the frame - all looking good with no corrosion anywhere.
Step 3 - Find where in the wiring the failure resides, deducted with my multimeter that the DCM is not receiving a ground.
Step 4 - This is where the pictoral begins.
Isolated the problem while wiggling some wires between the car body and the door. So tear down is done.
As Jamie would say from Mythbusters, "Well there's your problem".
Ground connection ain't making a connection properly anymore.
Individual connector removed from the plastic case. That isn't gonna make a good connection. (Nothing a little blood can't fix.)
All bent back into proper form now.
An overview of the work area with all necessary tools. (Specialy the Icehouse. )
Connector put back together.
Door panel back on.
Back in her cozy little home.
Her vanity shot.
And after two hours have to go play with the nubby.
Now I know there are some steps left out of the pictoral like pulling the inner access panel and checking all my underhood grounds, which were perfect by the way. So hopefully this can give others a guide to try and isolate why your DCM has no power,(or proper lack of ground). So she should be good for another 28k or so, hopefully.
Thanks,
N Bawls

I just want to say thank you to the OP. I was having a problem with the window rolling down and the door lock not working. Fixed!
I didn't have to take any panels off. All I had to do is pull the accordion back and fish out the wires! Easy fix and window and lock works like its brand new. Saved myself $120 a guy quoted me. Took me 20 minutes taking my time.

Hopefully some of you are still around. How do you pop the wires out of the black clip? I pulled both grey retention clips out, however I am having some trouble getting the releasing the wire from the clip. I have a few out of shape and think this could fix my problem .

I picked up a Gm terminal disconnect tool. Makes the job a snap. I got all of the connectors reshaped with the exception of two. Now today I was able to swing by the local check dealer to try and buy new female terminals. The person at the parts counter was little to no help. He told me the dealer only sells the whole connect which has to be wired in with butt connectors. So because I have one bad connction I should make 12 new ones? I’m not really into that. Does anyone know the part number for these replacement pins?
