Default Question on Performance Mod

I've been off of the forum for some time now....had back surgery....and have been involved in another hobby (RC Car Racing) but I'm interested in upgrading a few things and was hoping I could get some help.

I've got a 03 A4 with Borla Stingers and I haven't done the x pipe or the intake at this point. Are these the next logical mods that I should be looking at? Is the Blackwing still the most popular intake upgrade? Anything else that I should be thinking about?

Thanks in advance!

I did the blackwing next.
Then LG headers
Then cam/heads/ud pulley
Now playing with tuning
Just finishing up with wideband install

First mods? Bang for the buck I would recommend a cold air intake (CAI) first. A Blackwing with an Icebox is a good choice but there are others out there as well. Synthetic fluid in your transmission and rear end will help a little. Change to a good tire that isn’t a run-flat. Then a good custom tune would be my next choice perhaps with an upgrade of your injectors to SVO 30#’s. These mods. will lay the foundation for future mods. and will really wake your car up. My $0.02 worth.

A lot of people are going with the vararam intake because it is a true cold air intake. Many see some real gains with it. I brought a halletech stinger which is nice but I feel I should have brought the vararam after hearing people's positive opinions of it.

Can someone suggest a vendor that sells the vararam intake? I've looked at a number of them and can't seem to find it.

I'm actually thinking of changing to a nice 19/18 combo......but am a little scared of gettin gaway from the run flats. What do people do to protect against having flats?? Do the "fix a flat" products you can buy work well??

Cold air intake. The Callaway honker has gotten some good reviews as well, but is not inexpensive. I have the Blackwing. Long tube headers, and a good tune. Those would be my top three. You don't need the larger injectors until you do more mods. You can easily change them anytime.

You can't use the tire pressure sensors and use "fix a flat". It will ruin them. You can get a decent 12v compressor and a tire plug kit and carry that. The error messages you will get when not using tire pressure sensors can be programmed out, by any of the good shops that do tuning, and then you can use the green slime puncture seal. You'll still need to carry the compressor.
