Transmission help needed
My 02 vert with automatic transmission will not move when it is put in reverse when put in to drive it drives normally. The shift lever moves freely but when put in reverse its like its in neutral.

Did you recently have any work done that would involve the transmission, if not then it just might be time for a rebuild. When my transmission went out I lost reverse just like yours.

You don't say how many miles on car, but I would check shift linkage and fluid levels.

Mine just lost all forward gears while getting on the freeway about a month ago (sunshell/planetary). I have 28k on the car. It required a complete rebuild including a new converter. I would have went with RPM Transmissions, a proven vendor on CF, but mine was covered under warranty (awesome 'cause the bill was $2,500!).
You should check the fluid level and check the DIC for any codes that may affect the transmission.
