i was just curious as to how restrictive they were on the sound. sorry. i should have been more clear. i just want it to be a little louder than what it is now.

It will be louder with the headers. Are you going to go cat less?If so it will even be louder.I hear that the stock Z06 exhaust sounds great with headers. Some say it's to loud for them any other way after putting on headers. They will start with after market cat back then later put on headers and then it is to loud so they use a stock Z06 cat back to tone it down some.
Added Kooks LT's plus a stealth cam and other goodies but left the cat back stock. Was noticeably throatier despite stock cat back.
Went to Ti's and the sound really went up but not abrasively so. IMHO, this is a great combo since the performance is terrific but the exhaust note is still Ok as long as the revs are below 2500 rpm.
A downpipe (kinda similar to headders but on a turbo car after the turbos) and no cats makes even my 3.0L rumble a little, try it out with the stock one first I say.
the x-pipe is very important -it will make daily driving great. I have Yank SS3600 torque conv.; headers through x-pipe to Corsa Indy exhaust. It can get loud when I want it to but at lock-up the driving is smooth, no resonance
