Default EZ Brake Question!

Hey kids, I'm going to put on some rotors in the spring (yeah I know it's a while out). But I'm curious...

1) Do I need to bleed out the system after I put the new rotors on? I'm assuming the calipers will slip right on?

2) Do I need any special tools to pull the calipers off? Or just a torx bit? T50 by any chance?

Only if you disconnect the brake lines.

The bolts are just metric hex-head bolts. However, the caliper bracket bolts can be on there extremely tight (assuming this is the first time you've had them off). You can use an impact wrench on the fronts (turn the wheels lock to lock to get the room needed), but the rears are just a pain. I actually had to use a 4' pipe extension to get mine freed up the first time. Now it's quite a bit better.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

There would be no reason to bleed the brakes for a rotor change.

If you have trouble with the caliper bolts(the ones you can't get an impact on) simply put a box socket wrench on them and whack it with a small hand sledge. Kinda like a slow motion impact wrench. Will work easily.

Great, and thanks! I might bring it in the shop this spring for a "spring tune up"...dending on the price I might just have them do it then. I do have a 3/4 impact gun (I want to say).
