Default differential rebuild?

is there any special tools i will need to rebuild my differential. im installing 4.10s i got the bearing and seal kit and trying to get everything together so i can get it done. Do i need some kind of special tool to remove and install the bearings?i might install a new clutch while im in there old ones got 65000 miles

this has been covered in the past; but here's an overall summary:

The C5 Getrag carrier is unique. So conventional methods to swap a ring & pinion gear aren't gonna cut-it. There's a few Kent Moore -type- specialized tools made for this.

And since the R&R on a C5 is a lot more time consuming than on common cars, most don't want to take the risk of not getting it right the first time... and send it to an experienced business... like DTE and others.

its no fun sending it off to someone else. id rather try to do it myself. i just got to find all the tools we have a press and a bearing puller tool

At least give Phil at DTE a call to see if he will share any pitfalls you may experience. He's a stand up forum member here and they do nothing but high quality work.
