Default 2000 Year Ring Issues

Does anyone know if the weak piston rings/oil burning problems include the 2000 model year? Would a car with 60,000 miles with regular oil changes be problematic. I'm looking at a car that fits those criteria. Anyone ?

To answer your question.... YES, the 2000 models were included in the oil consumption issues.

My Y2K Vert doesn't use a drop of oil in between oil changes. I usually change the oil when the oil life indicator says 15-20%.

149K+ on my '00, autox'd about 70 laps / year. I run the OLM down to 0% (usually around 8K miles), and consumes about 1 qt. over that period.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
