Default Rear defrost repair

Does anyone know how to repair the rear defrost in a Z06. The prong on the passenger side detached from the window. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thx

there is a wierd metalic gold shave filled epoxy type stuff that says it works. it has little gold shavings in a glue type liquid. they sell it at parts houses. it is a hit and miss kinda thing. never used it myselfbut have seen it used on some cars. some worked, some did not. good luck with this one. worth the $5 to atleast give it a try. i am actually holding a bottle of it now. its called permatex quick grid rear window defogger repair kit. it is a .05 fld ounce tiny glass bottle of what looks like cat pizz with fine gold metal flakes in it that need shaken to mix and comes with a little applicator brush. it says it will fix the lines and attach the soldered part. try it and see. new rear glass is very expensive. good luck again

Default Glue it back on!!!

Really ya can... stop at the auto parts store and tell them what happened and the can turn you on to some electrically conductive glue. It's a little bit tricky but no big deal.

Tech Tip... Try not to glue your fingers to the rear widow, It makes driving to the hospital rather tricky !!

Good luck let us know how ya make out!!!

Clean both parts with a small wire brush and resolder it. Just use rosin core solder and go light with the heat. The window glass can take it. Chuck.

Then you'll have gloves glued to the rear window.

Only kidding. I have a coupe and a lot of the lines were scraped away and one was ddetatched. I used the Permatex quick grid rear window defogger repair kit and some really thin painters tape and recoated all of the lines. It worked well.

I wish my car had never come with that stupid rear defroster as both my clips broke. Something I will never use in California.
