reduce speed service traction control
I stoped at a light today and all of a sudden the dash began to blink reduce soeed sevice tracktion control I gave it gas and there was no power at all and it stalled I started it again and the same thing happened it was'nt till I turned off the ignition and tryed to restart that it cleared up what just happened I freaked out in traffic

You most likely have a bad TAC module. 97 and early 98 C5s had issues with the TAC Modules and there are up graded modules that will take care of the issue. Read and post the DTC'c that are storred in the DIC. There are forum venders that can provide them foe right around $200.
Until you can get it fixed, next time it happens, immediately pull up the codes and clear the associated DTC under the PCM and it should cause the problem to reset "temporarly" until the next time it has issues.
There are other things that can cause the problem.
- Stuck/stickey TB
- Bad Throttle Position Sensor
- Bad gas pedel sensor
- Bad wiring harness
My bet is the TAC is the problem.
