Under my extended GMPP warranty I just had extensive work done on my A/C (2000 C5 Coupe). Now my driver side vent temperature is 10 degrees or so warmer than the passenger side and the dealer told me that GM said it was acceptable under their standards. As such, the dealer has been told by GM not to work further to reduce that differential closer to zero. The dealer simply says he can't get the diverter door that mixes heat/air conditioning to close, thereby bleeding heat constantly while running A/C. Is anyone else experiencing this temperature differential with their A/C and do you think the dealer and GM can really just walk away from fixing this under warranty?

If he and his boys can't get the Actuator to close properly then they damn well better replace the Actuator ! I mean they ARE mechanics right??????? I would inform him that you are taking this "up the chain", no way GM should walk away from this one.
If you have the car now you could try to reset the stops on the actuator by pulling the fuse, long shot but ya never know!
is it a auto climate car or manual like mine? i have that same problem but all the fixes i get told to try involve the auto climate control...anyway here's a link to my thread started in c5 tech with some helpful info..
Thanks for the advice about going up the line at GM. Unfortunately I've just spent the better part of my life doing that regarding a sunroof issue on a 2006 Grand Prix, only to realize that the process is a farce. You can't get any higher than their inept customer support team that simply throws the problem back to the dealer that you are having the problem with in the first place. It's a circular process with NO WAY to break out of to higher GM management.
In this case, the dealer fixed my car under my GMPP warranty, only to tell me after having the car for a couple of weeks in their shop, that I now have air but the driver side is 10 degrees warmer than the passenger side. They said that GM, yes GM, told them to STOP working on it because it met with their standard of an acceptable 10 degree differential between sides. I'm so disgusted with GM customer service, yet I stupidly keep buying their cars because I like their look and feel. Seems that I'm gonna eat this problem as well even though it's under warranty, unbelievable.
can you spell lemon law? look into it and mention to the dealer. it might get him to move on both issues. i assume these are new cars? i dont know if it works for used but attorney general, better business bureau customer complaint may be interesting too? at least you can vent your frustration and send them a copy!
