2000 Vette with 6spd and ported heads with 2.02 intake and 1.60 valves and milled to produce 11 to 1 compression. Mild Lunati cam (don't know which one as it was top secret back in 2000). Longtube TPIS headers, no cats, Corsa exhaust with X pipe. 3.90 gears. LS6 intake. True ram air. LS6 clutch. Opinions? BTW, I'm not racing I just want another HP increase with out buying a whole new engine, hence SC.

first you will want to lower your compression some. You will probably want to be in the mid 9s for compression but mid 10s will work if you have a safe tune. With that said, go with a piston designed for boost. A forged piston w/ a decently thick ring land. The cam (depending on specs) may or may not be ok. The gears will be tight depending on the trap speeds you intend to run. But if you aren't racing stick w/ the gears. I think the LS6 clutch will eventually slip or stick to the floor, I'd use it till it dies and go w/ an LS7 clutch.

Assuming that you have a stock shortblock( 3.8992 bore x 3.662 stroke ), a set of 6.0L heads with 72cc chambers will drop your compression ratio to 9.68:1 which is very good. I am guessing your cam will be more hurtful than helpful. This is mainly due to the fact you are currently NA, so I guess the LSA is around 112. The cam is not the end of the world, but it will most likely bleed off boost because of the low LSA.

I think you will make OK power and keep the engine alive if you run about 6 to 7 psi of boost.

Most SC kits are around the $6K mark not including installation. With the current setup, you could get a nice safe 450 to 475 rwhp out of SC kit. Another thing to think about is a nice head and cam packge can get you around the same mark rwhp wise for the cost of SC kit installed.

If you're on "the cheap" get a set of LQ9 72cc truck heads from texas speed (that's what GB vette has on his FI 402). Then find a used 2001 Z06 cam... they're great FI cams apparently.

With these two mods you could run 8-10lbs of boost all day long... with meth injection even more.

However... for the best advice go over into the FI/Nitrous forum.
