Default Rear bumper replacement

Has anyone bought a used bumper for thier car? I am replacing a c5 coupe bumper that has a rip in it. I bought a used bumper that is in good condition but it has sucked in on one side of from setting. I can push it out to the stock form but it sucks back in when you let go.
I am thinking of using a heat gun on it to bring it back to the stock shape. Behind the bumper is backing but it does not touch the bumper to hold it out. I will try to get a pic soon. Just picture a big dent to the left of your tag and below both drivers side lights. How do I fix this?Any help?? Thanks

Be very careful when you flex the bumper, unless you're going to strip and paint it anyway. The paint underneath the clear coat will crack and show as scratches in the sunlight. Don't even ask me how I know.

I have replaced mine a few times on the race car with used bumpers. Usually when you get them on and bolted up they come back to the proper shape. It just takes more tweaking when you align them.

A member told me to pour hot water on the spot so I will try that. Sounds like it might work. Thanks
