Default Halltech Stinger Intake Filter cleaning rqmt.

98 C5 6-speed. I have the subject intake and in the box it came in was a sheet with directions to go to www.corvettec5.com for instructions. I have instructions, and it's not brain surgery anyway, but I wanted to find the cleaning requirement and cleaning frequency for their filter. I couldn't find anything there.

Those of you that have this intake system, could you fill me in? I see I can buy a new replacement filter, but just need the above questions answered.

Thanks
Mick

I have the same intake...I cleaned it at about 15k miles. I just went to the local parts store and bought a K&N filter cleaning kit..comes with the soap and oil and instructions... just make sure you don't over oil the filter. I cleaned it and let it dry over night and part of the next day, and turned out perfect.

I'll see if I can find the specific Halltech instructions floating around here. If not, if you contact Halltech directly, I am sure they can help you out.

I made a procedure and tips about cleaning frequency here:

http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/corvette_c5_corner.htm

Not having CAI will prolong the cleaning frequency, but will allow the ECU to dial back timing as the underhood temps rise above 100F.

Thanks Guys. Great link Dave , made a copy of the cleaning instructions, and wasn't it you Dave that had the link to installing the CA! Screen? Sure would like to find it a print that too. I'll try the Search too.
