I am about to install a sub and amp in y z06. Does anybody know if i can plug the RCA wires into an already existing stock amp or do i have to run them to the head unit? Thanks.
If you have the Bose system I am pretty sure there is no stock amp... and in order to hook up an amp you have to buy some adapters. Cant remember which ones off the top of my head though.

If you're using the stock Bose system, each speaker has it's own amp and no, you can't tap onto them. However, if you tap a wire from the + side of the Left, and a + side from the Right, you can run those two wires into a separate mono amp and you'll have a center channel sub w/o messing up the impedance.
that grommet is a tight fit but works great. I pulled 2 4 guage wires through it and just figured I'd tip you off to put a little bit of grease of the wires when feeding them through. Helped me a LOT.
The C5 doesn't use a separate amp for each speaker. The door "twiddlers" and the rear speakers are powered from the stock deck (This is why you can replace them with whichever brand you like), the door subs however, do have their own amp. Check the Audio section, at the top is a FAQ, and should tell you which adapter(s) you need to install an amp. I put in a 10" self-amplified Bazooka tube last year, but I don't remember which adapters I used. I think it's made by PAC (possibly the PAC-AOEM), it basically T's into the existing wiring behind the stereo and provides the RCA's.
