I have the oppurtunity to buy a Diablo Predator for my 01. Is it going to make a noticeable difference? I just added a Bassani X pipe, b&b prt's and a Blackwing intake, will the programmer enhance my modifications. I'm new at this any suggestions would be great.

Yes, get it, or just spend the money on a better program for a laptop and have even more control. Either way, you win.

I did a Predator performance tune this Fall and saw that the power curve was moved to the lower RPMs. Most people on this Forum reported to me that it was a waste of money, especially on my MN6 Vert. But I had paid for it before posting questions here, so I used it despite what others had said. I was surprised to actually see improvement in torque in the bottom of each gear, where I before the tune would discipline myself not to bog any gear below 1500 RPMs after the tune the motor will comfortably pull from 1100 RPMs. The idle has improved and cooling fans were also reconfigured as part of the tune. Fuel mileage has improved but not to the degree that I would make the purchase based on fuel savings. If you can find a deal ($200-$250) on a Predator and are not ready to go the professional Tuner route just yet, I would say give it a go as it is reversible and doubles as a Diagnostic Scanner that could come in handy in the future.
I also have a 2001 Convertible. With out a doubt the Diablo was the best investment. I not only added additional HP but gained a incredible amount of torque with with the ability to turn off Torque Management. The hand held unit is easy to use and very easy to read. The company has excellent support and offers special tunes as well. A great man once said "Try it you'll like it!".
I purchased a 2001 Coupe, Corsa exhaust and K&N Intake that was tuned with the Predator and it made the torque curve nice and flat when I dyno'd it a couple weeks ago. The only problem is slight pinging down low, which will require additional tuning.
XIZOR - 318.6 MAX HP at rear wheels - not bad for the modes you have. If you figure 20% loss for automatic you looking at 382.3 at the crank! I have similar mods (Vararam, Predator, Large air bridge/smooth coupler with a velocity stack and corsa Pros). I don’t have any pinging now after I adjust WOT a little and she runs great.
Predator is great for an auto and just a few bolt-ons. The closest dyno tuner to me is 4 hour one way and he don’t work weekends so my predator was the way to go for me(plus it was on sale!). If you plan on a much of mods wait until you get them all done and see if you can a professional dyno tune (IMO).

Does an `03 Z06 have torque managment that the Predator can disable? I`m trying to decide whether to get one. Thanks~
I have an '02 ZO6, with, obviously, a 6 spd. The built in performance tune was installed after I put headers on. On a dyno, before Predator, the best was 370 rwhp, and after the Predator tune, 379 rwhp, with a very steady 12.8-1 AFR. With the other functions it has, I'd say it's worth its price, but a good dyno tuner can actually do better. I also reads, records, and resets trouble codes easier than using the DIC, and there's the fan settings, etc.
