Default Shift **** Removal

I changing the lens on my dash gauges and trying to get trim piece off that that the shifter goes through. It is an automatic. How does it come off? I read that you take the center parts out (which I did) and unscrew it but, even with a gentle twist with channel locks, the **** won't unscrew.

you don't need to take you **** off to take the center console off the shift boot can just be pushed throught b/c it is clipped it...it's hard to explain...if you want to take the **** off the you need vise grips...take off the little plastic piece the says "1-2-3-4-5-6-R" then you'll see a piece of metal in there and that needs to be pulled out it is put in there kind of like a rail road spike you need to put vise grips on there and pull HARD ! ! ! then the **** will just unscrew off...NOTE: when pulling up on the vise grips be care full that when you pull the metal retainer out that you don't hit your targa top or your face...i hope that helps

SORRY I DIDN'T READ AUTOMATIC ! ! !
