Default Mystery 2nd Filter

I posted this in general, but havent had much of a response. Maybe this is a better section for my questions.

I am a C4 owner who is thinking about picking up a C5. The car looks clean, but two small things came up when I gave it a look over.

1) There was a hose that was mounted in the area of the air intake (drivers side) with a small cyclindrical air filter. What is this?

2)Anyone know anything about Corvette Concepts Cyclone Induction systems? It seems to be a legit dealer who makes a custom kit that uses a K&N filter. Any additional info would be appreciated. (I have check out their website - seems fine)

Thanks for all the help, especially with the ID on the mystery 2nd filter.

That little filter is for the air injection pump which injects air for about a minute after a cold start to get the cats to light off quicker. Normally that hose is connected to the stock air box but when a C5 is fitted with an aftermarket air system the air injection hose is left without a clean air port so it is fitted with a little filter.

Thanks for the help Just Enough, I suspected it was part of the stock air system. I appreciate the fast response. I will post pics for clarification when I get the car.

That was my setup when I bought my '99. Some one had put a K&N filter on the car, disconnected the air line and put a filter on the end. Tacky IMHO so after switching to a Blackwing I went to NAPA got the proper couplings and routed the air line back into the blackwing. $.02 deposited.
