I have a 99 and noticed that the crank pully has a little wobble to it. car has 47,000 on it . is this something that I should address right now or get taken care of later on , I dont get on the car too hard its just a sunday crusier. thanks
VN's is correct, get that pulley in the scrap bin quickly; you don't want to be stranded with the pulley cutting into the steering rack and tossing the belt
I was looking for the answer to the same question, also I noticed some belt wine any idea how much and should I go to the stealership or find a good mechanic. Thanks
My 97 has the same problem. It would be an easy job(disconnect the rack and move) but you need a 4 ton Gorilla to break that nut.My IR impact w/150psi would not budge it.I put it back together and kept on driving the heck out of it.I AINT SKERD !

I've got a 24" breaker bar. Me on one side and a buddy on the other, and it broke loose pretty quickly.
thanks for the response I had a conversion with a good friend of mine that worked foe chevy for years, now has his own shop , he said in all his time there he never seen a crank pully come off on its own. he thinks Im parinoid.
Took mine into the dealer today for them to take look and estimate a repair if required after looking at it and fixing the squeal (a build up of rubber debris on the pulley), they advised that it is designed to have some movement in it, and although mine is moving a little more than specified they recommended that I dont fix it. I am going to get a cam anyway so this will just be fixed at that time. Jon
