If you're referring to the Intake Air Temperature sensor, on a stock vehicle it's on the driver's side of the air bridge. It has it's own plug connector.

I thought it was part of the MAF from 2001 and on?

You may be right on that, I'm not certain. If so, it should still have it's own plug connector I think.
camaro2you: Check the MAF connector(s) or just remove the hose(s). If there, I would look for it sticking into the airstream (not to be confused with the three thermistors used by the MAF itself of course)

If you have the 3pin/3wire MAF, it's separate. It's built into the 01 and up 5pin mafs. (The extra 2 pins are for the IAT).
