I know what you have to do (I.E. new shocks, resistors), but what would happen if you merely delete the "brain" box for the system????
What's peoples thoughts about the various "kits" for the sensors, to properly delete them, and is there anything cheaper than about $160 for 8 little plug in sensors???
I'm looking at a set of Bilstein HD shocks, anyone used these with a LOWERED C5 yet, and how did they react? Any other recommendations?
The F45 control box I guess you call it, the one located in the drivers side of the car in front of the wheel well I guess......CAN THAT BE EFFECTIVELY TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR??
Reason for asking is there's clearance issues with the F45/F55 box and the APS TT kit.

My '97 has the F45 (Real Time Dampening Control Module) box in the driver side rear compartment in the hatch. Removing it w/o having a Tech II delete it from the BCM will cause the car to Limit your Speed to 80MPH.
I'm interested in getting C6Z shocks, and deleting my F-45, i'm still in the process of figuring out what method i want to use to disable F-45.
More info. It's not the brains of the F45 system, it's the sensor box that's mounted just in front of the A-Arm. Now the problem lies in how is the car going to react with that sensor moved somewhere else even with the resistor attached to it??
Looking at Bilstein Sports for new shocks. Need to figure out a fix.
F-45 is an OEM Option. ALL options can be deleted from the BCM! All you need to do is unplug the F-45 control module, have someone with a GM Tech II program the junk out of the BCM and your done with it! Its a simple as that!
There are 3-4 forum post on this very subject that include all the steps necessary. If you do it this way you can remove the shocks, module wheel modules and linkages. No resistors, SIM modules or nothing!

I realize what you've posted here, however, I cannot plan on someone local to where the car is to have a Tech II and have the time/knowledge/want to help out and pull the F45 RPO from the BCM. The car is in the middle of a TT install right now, and will need to have the issue fixed prior to dyno tuning obviously, and not that I don't trust a dealership to delete the RPO, but I don't trust the dealership to delete it.
