A4 tranny experts look inside
I have a 99 coupe with the A4. The car is running great ( 6.80s at 104 mph) with a bone stock tranny. I am sure sooner or later I will have to work the tranny over. I was wondering if I needed to try to find a better tranny core for a rebuild then the 99 model. I have heard the 01 and newer 4l65e have some stronger upgraded parts inside, true? I just donot want to have to spend 6 or 7 hundred dollars to upgrade my 99 tranny better factory parts (like sun shell and such), when I could have bought a newer tranny core for a couple of hundred bucks to begin with and then still have a good 4l60e to sell. Any ideas?
